About Me

I am Japanese and have been studying traditional Japanese martial arts, known as Kobudo, for over 20 years. However, I am not a master. Unlike the experts you might see on YouTube, who seem to magically throw people around, or the ninjas in movies who effortlessly leap over walls, I cannot do such things. In fact, while I might be somewhat stronger than the average person, I probably couldn't win a fight against someone who is professionally trained in combat sports. So, why do I continue to practice Kobudo? It's to learn about the state of mind.

One day, I discussed with my master about how I felt my skills in Kobudo were not improving at all. He told me, 'Kobudo is a technique for the weak. In that sense, you are well-suited for it.' Those words felt like an awakening to me.

I am a person who often worries over trivial matters in daily life, not just in fights. I'm weak in that sense. The ancient Japanese have taught us important lessons for people like me to survive and get by.

The reason I started this blog was out of fear that the teachings of my master, who first introduced me to the world of Kobudo, would fade away with his passing. By sharing these lessons through this blog, I hope to recall and preserve what he taught me.

Although I am still in the midst of my training, I would be grateful for your continued support over the long term.
